Goodbye regular season, hello keeper league season

I hope everyone had some level of success this season. I’m happy to report that I finished third in all four of my leagues this year, including my main keeper league. I realize things have been quiet around here the last few months but there will be plenty of content to help you get ready for the 2015 season. I have a few ambitious projects in mind for this offseason and if anyone is interested in contributing as a writer, please send me an e-mail. Any submissions used on the site will be paid for and anyone interested may be hired as a regular writer for the site.

Is Lonnie Chisenhall a keeper?

A first round pick in the 2008 draft, expectations were high for Cleveland Indians 3B Lonnie Chisenhall. The 3B of the future for the Tribe, Chisenhall made his major league debut in 2011 after a successful minor league run, responding by hitting 7 HR in 223 PA. He was never able to hold the job down though, spending 2012 and 2013 bouncing between the majors and minors.

The inconsistency was enough that the Indians moved Carlos Santana to 3B over the winter to share time with Chisenhall. That seemed to be all the motivation Chisenhall needed as he has finally secured the starting job in Cleveland and helped force the Indians to ditch the Santana-to-3B experiment.

Now that Chisenhall is finally living up to expectations, the question for keeper league owners is whether Chisenhall is a keeper.

With hot streaks like Blackmon and Dickerson, looking at a players underlying skills becomes even more critical as it will help us ID which players can actually produce keeper level stats in the future.

With that in mind, let’s look at the latest transaction trends and see if any of these players are worth taking a chance on, starting with Dickerson.
