Most players have now settled in for the season now and we’re beginning to see who’s real and who’s not. But before you get too comfortable though, just remember that one hot or cold streak can still have a significant impact on a player’s final numbers. With that in mind, I’m trying to include an interesting fact about each player’s current performance.
Here’s how things look heading into this week.
It’s becoming clear that this season is quickly becoming about the dominance of Matt Harvey. Despite the fact that the Mets continue to fall down the standings as the season goes along, Harvey continues to put up numbers at an unbelievable rate. The big story this season will be how quickly his star rises.
As for the rest of our list, last week was a mixed bag. Here’s how things look heading into this week.
The best part about May, at least as it relates to fantasy baseball, is that we are now getting to the point where players have accumulated enough ABs for their stats to be meaningful. The samples are still somewhat small but hot and cold streaks will have less of an effect as the season continues, giving us a better idea of who we can count on and who we can ditch in the coming weeks.

Yes, I have Garrett Richards on my team and after yesterday’s start in which he allowed 5 ER in 7 IP, I’ve had the honor of seeing this note in “My Fantasy Updates,” with the number of teams increasing as the day goes on.
For the next 5 years, the 30 players I drafted on Monday, April 15 will determine how many titles I win in a fantasy league. Not my trades (which have been outlawed), or my ability to snag players off the wire before anyone else (that’s outlawed too). It will come down to what I did on that Monday, who I choose to start in any given month and luck.
What a difference a week in April can have on your overall stats.
Three weeks into our tracking project we see that many of our players have improved their season stats significantly thanks to great performances over the past week. Obviously any conclusions made at this point are shots in the dark but along with updated stats I decided it was time to share my thoughts on what I’m seeing.
